A recent report conducted by Zenith Optimedia surveyed the changing patterns of media consumption in 65 countries across the world, using this data to then forecast likely media consumption up to 2017. The report details how the rise in internet consumption has eroded traditional media, except Outdoor. The amount of time people are exposed to Outdoor is instead rising due to various factors (click the below link).
It is also important to note that one of the key points this forecast relates to is that more than 50% of the growth in internet consumption is expected on mobile devices, much of it when people are out-of-home (OOH). OOH media is a proven way of generating traffic to mobile devices, so brands that want people to pick up their device and interact with them should seriously consider incorporating OOH into their marketing mix. OOH media is a smart choice now and gets significantly smarter each year.
