A recent report by the New Zealand Advertising Standards Authority shows an outstanding growth result for the Outdoor advertising industry in New Zealand, stating revenue growth of 9.2% year-on-year.
The report gives compelling evidence that Outdoor advertising is as effective as ever even amidst a new media landscape that traditional mediums are struggling to cope with. Consumers are now equipped with the technology to avoid advertising from traditional mediums, which partly explains their decline in revenue. On the contrary, it is reassuring to know these consumers can be reached, it just seems the only place to do so is either digitally or where they spend 70% of their waking hours, out-of-home.
